Shoptalk, the global retail innovation event, isn’t just about shaping the future of commerce, it’s about shaping an industry that works for everyone. With 4,500+ attendees, including a high proportion of C-suite executives, Shoptalk wanted to ensure that no parent had to choose between their child’s wellbeing and their own professional development.

By integrating professional childcare at their corporate event as a core offering since relaunching the European edition in 2023, Shoptalk aimed to support working parents, boost inclusivity and encourage full participation.

What we deliver

Nipperbout provide a full-day childcare service throughout the event at the Fira Barcelona venue, offering:

  • An inclusive environment for children from infants to teens
  • Activities tailored to suit all ages from creative play to dress up, outings, games and quiet spaces
  • A secure, well-located setting with indoor and outdoor access (in line with Spanish legal requirements) complete with the Nipperbout security gate and protocols
  • Pre-registration for safety, with walk-ins managed where appropriate
  • A trusted, professional team of Purple People with our usual knowledge and expertise in event childcare

In action

Following parental feedback, we worked together with the Shoptalk team to identify a suitable space at the venue. The childcare was in a bright room, easily accessible from the event registration area with safe access to outdoor space. These small but crucial details streamlined the logistics for parents, meant they could pop in at any stage, ensured a smooth transition for the children and gave the childcare area access to lots of natural light fresh air.

With visitors travelling from across Europe, the addition of childcare meant they could combine the show with a family break, knowing babies to teens we’re well cared for.
